(Group Post) - Media Theorists.

Theorists.

RYALL- "Genre provides a framework"
We need to stick to the conventions of the indie pop, although can break a few, as the artist generally falls under a different category than the song. For example, the lyrics won't always match the visuals, but there won't be a lot of colour. The only vivid colour in our video will be the powder paint.

MULVEY- "male gaze"
We discovered males were more likely to watch the video if the artist is attractive, this fits in with the convention of having attractive people in indie videos.

RAYNER- "present the real world"
The video shows a girl dealing with a breakup, which, to our young female audience, will create a verisimilitude and recognisable situation. I think, for this reason, our audience will relate to it.
