Iconic Signs
In our music video our costume is an iconic sign. It is a very classic look and most girls do have a little black dress in their wardrobe. It is iconic and represents parties and elegance. Different people will get different connotations from the black dress because it means different things to different people. To me it does represent elegance but to someone else it could represent a bad time in their life (because black is a 'depressive' colour). The little black dress is also seen as quite voyeuristic which links to Mulvey's male gaze theory.
