We emailed Bareilles' manager to find out if we could use her song and we got this response; 

We have to credit Sara Bareilles at the end of the video but we are completely fine to use her song in our video!

Initial Ideas Update.

Update of ideas.

We have decided to expand our range of ideas for our music videos as the Alex Turner song is just too slow. We have decided on 4 possible artists with a couple of songs each.

Once we have decided as a group which song we would like to use then we shall email the record company to get their copy right permission. We need to start thinking of people we could use in our music video and possible locations. 

Digital Technology 1.

What I have learnt from digital technology.

I have used Final Cut Pro X to create a short documentary of the 6th form. From this I have learnt how to compress or elongate time using the modify option. I have also learnt how to put in transitions to make the cuts between scenes smoother. I now can also detach audio and delete it to replace with a song, all of these basic skills will help me in creating my music video.

The brief and my reaction to it.

G324 Advanced Portfolio in Media Brief 1.

A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two ancillary tasks: a digipak for the album's release and a magazine advertisement for the digipak.

My Reaction:

I will be working with Becky. Our initial ideas for this music video are a slow song as it would be easier to film. We would also have parts of this video in black and white. We think we could make this video very artsy and vintage, we just have to find the perfect song for it; we are thinking of Alex Turner - Hiding Tonight. This genre is indie/acoustic and we will take influence from the film that it was written for - Submarine. The song choice means we will need a male lead singer whom is attractive.
